Sebastien started daycare this week. We thought (and we realize now we hoped just a little) that he might have a hard time, that he'd cry when we leave, that he'd be excited to come home. But no...our little grown up boy absolutely loves daycare. He's happy to see his friends in the morning, and though he's happy to see us when we pick him up, I can tell he'd rather us all just hang out in the play room together instead of going home.
He also did his first art project this week. We were so proud! On Tuesday he fingerpainted a styrofoam cut-out of an apple. And he did a great job! And today he also colored a picture of an apple with crayon. His class is doing an "apple" theme for the next couple of weeks, and then they'll go on a field trip to pick apples in the country.
It's strange how much just this one week of new experience has changed him. He came home from the first day somehow seeming a lot older, more in control of himself, more sociable. And he just talked and talked and talked, telling us all about his day. Too bad we can't understand a word he's saying. If I could understand even just one word, I'd put it here in this Blog. But for now, we'll have to just trust that his smiles and happiness say all we need to know.

I want to see a picture of Sebastien's artwork. I'm glad he's enjoying daycare. I think it would be more sad to leave him if he hated it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased to hear that Sebastien is having a positive experience in Day Care. Please keep the pictures coming. He is getting cuter by the day!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad he didn't cry like Kaycee did. Yay! They sure do love it once they are ok with it. She asks to go to school all the time now.
